Time for Holiday Bow Ties!

Hooray, it's the season for some new bow ties!

Like my swanky buddy Tom told me earlier this year: a true Southern gentleman always wears a bow tie.
I'll do him proud today I think.

I can't wait for Christmas, I'm so excited, and here are my favorite party ties this year so far.

At the bottom you can find some other stylish men who also favor(ed) bow ties.
They had super-great taste, you might even recognize one or two of them.

Ciao!
Titus

The full Monty! Santy!

Sweet Peppermint-Stick Bow Tie.

Sassy Chocolate Santa Bow Tie.

Chocolate Dapple Mint Bow Tie.

And here are those other gentlemen who favor bow ties:

Karl Lagerfeld, one of my fashion icons of course.
Although I'm not sure he always qualifies as a gentleman;)

Churchill. Supposedly he was kinda famous.

Look: Abraham Lincoln wore bow ties!
(He also was a little before my time.)

Oh, heh, couldn't leave out Harry Styles.
He's kinda more my speed and hey: that's a sweet design he's got on there!

Love the raised brow, might have to practice that look.

Okay, see you next time!

Well I'll be darned!

There I was, cruising along East High Street in C-Ville in my red Fiat 500 Model "T"
and what do I spy?
Me!
In high places!
On a Billboard! Wowsie!

It's for the wonderful people who take care of me when I'm sick and when I have fleas.

Check it out some time, I'll be waving atcha!

Halloweenies!!!

Yesterday Mommy said: "Hooray, it's time to get out the costumes!"
She's been shopping for weeks now.... and you may remember from last year: she's kinda unstoppable.
The bad news: she now has aunt Kay to conspire with!
The good news?
Aunt Kay brought my buddy Jetson over yesterday, so it actually was a lot of fun!

Okay, ready?
Here goes!

Spider kisses for my BFF!

This is one for my book "The Joy of Wearing Hats, Part Deux."
(Coming out soon! I think I'll have a lot to say after Christmas is over...)

One more for good measure:)

Well, we had fun!
I'll post more of these over the next few weeks on my Facebook Page.
See ya there, and "Boo!"

xoxo  TITUS

Boom: roasted!

Thanks to everyone who came out to eat some weenies with me
on Saturday at the McIntire Fall Fest!

Aunt Kay, Dad and Mom teamed up to roast weenies in front of La Linea Bella! all day to benefit the Hot Dog Hill Sanctuary (I'm not tall enough to reach the grill, or I'd have flipped a few dogs -- and eaten a few more too!). Hot Dog Hill devotes their time, love and effort to taking in dachshunds (and other doggies) that are elderly or ill or deemed unadoptable due to other health issues. Some only have a few weeks left to live, but Hot Dog Hill believes in giving them the comfortable and dignified last chapter they deserve. If you've ever taken care of an elderly dog, you know how much love, devotion, understanding and patience it requires. There are many people who just cannot handle this stage of a dog's life and that's where Hot Dog Hill steps in. They are a small  organization near Richmond, Virginia and you can find them and their current furry friends on Facebook.

This is my late sister Mausi. She passed away at the age of 19+ last year and I am dedicating this weenie roast to her memory. She was awesome and we miss her very much!

Favorite part of the day?
My friend Zoe came down to the festival. She told her Mom that she wanted to buy her whole family dinner in order to donate the money she had made with her lemonade stand to the dogs at Hot Dog Hill. Isn't that just super-awesome??? I am so impressed.

I managed to raise about $150 with my roast, which is just a little drop in the bucket, but we had such a great time and we hope that you will check out Hot Dog Hill and support their venue as well!

Thanks to the terrific folks at Hot Dog Hill for their devotion and love for all four legged creatures.

If you'd also like to donate to their cause, just click here!

See you soon!

I'm a radio star now!

Yeah, that's right: that's me you see in that chair there!
These guys turned the whole studio over to me today. Melted like butter.

Think BIG, right?
Well, that's my motto, that's me!

These are my new friends Pam & Vinnie on Hitkicker 99.7.

They get up SUPER early in the morning and have their own show.
(Not like me, I like to lounge around in the mornings and eat bacon...)
I think they are really cool. And when we drive to work in the morning, we listen to them.
Pam is very sassy and she wears red boots. That's pretty awesome.
I think she's got a boot fetish just like Mom.
But I think I want to be like Vinnie.

I went to the station today to check out what they do there. They invited me!
They even let me sing into the microphone.
The headphones were a little big for me, they'll have to get me smaller ones for the next time I come back. I'm gonna sing like Blake one day and then I'll make a record and they'll all want me to autograph my photos with my paw.

But right now I'm still practicing my yodeling.

Testing, testing... one, two. three... yeeee-haw!

(Yep, sounds good!)
Very cool.

Well, all things have to come to an end and eventually we had to leave so they could get back to work. But not without taking one more cool picture with me.

Here's Mom, on the left, wearing her favorite boots, and Pam with her hot-tamale-boots on the right. An the handsome dude with the badge (in the middle there):
well, that's me.

I love my Mom, but Pam's pretty great too. I'll hope she'll autograph this photo for me.
(Will ya, Pam??)

Well, that was an exciting day!
Thanks y'all, I had a super great time!

Now, as we dachshunds like to say:
"Get a-long, little doggie!"

See you again soon for more fun around C'Ville!!!!!!

Love y'all!

Painting today!

This is where I live. I painted it today. Well, with a teensy bit of help...

Picasso once said this:
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
That's pretty deep. Me, I'll always be an artist, cause I never plan to grow up! How 'bout you?

See you soon: Hope you get to go outside and play today!

Yodeling lesson from Titus!

Sometimes you just gotta let it all out!

Do you know how to yodel?
Well, you should, you know. As a German, I consider it one of life's essential skills.
Want me to teach you?
Okay, just follow along...
But make sure you give it some serious gusto!

Yodel-oh-ee-dee
Diddly-odel-oh-ee-dee
Diddly-odel-oh-ee-dee
Yodel-oh-ee-dee
Diddly-odel-oh-ee-dee
Diddly-odel-oh-ee-dee
This is how to yodel
Yodel-oh-ee-dee
Diddly-odel-oh-ee-dee-yodel-oh-dee!!!! Yeah!

Now don't you just feel soooo much better?

Just do it any time:
car, airport, vegetable isle -- it'll make everyone smile, I guarantee it, you'll be a huge hit!
(And definitely remember to think BIG while you do it.)

So long now, see you next time!

Project Bow Titus, Part Three: Tom and the yellow bow tie!

Meet Tom!

Well, actually Tom came to meet me at my work this week.

He's a very cheerful special events coordinator
and he was super-duper stoked to share his favorite yellow bow tie with me!
(He very kindly helped me put it on.)

Tom says: "A true Southern gentleman ALWAYS wears a bow tie!"

(I noted that in my new book "Titus's Guide for Dapper Dressing".)

What does a "Special Event Coordinator" do, you ask?
Well, I asked Tom the same thing, because I was very intrigued. I am always looking for new careers to peruse, and special events coordinating might just be right up my alley!

He told me: "If you are having an event, definitely call me because I'll arrange anything from tap dancing nuns arriving at your soiree in a hot air balloon, to live giraffes at your birthday party!"
Then he gave me a big, hearty laugh.

He's cool, isn't he?

Nice to meet you, Tom, and thanks so much for sharing your favorite bow tie with me!

xoxo TITUS

PS: We should mention that during the day, Tom functions as the much loved Executive Administrator at the
Village at Gordon House.
Thanks again Tom!

Remember: if you'd like to have your favorite bow tie and story featured on my blog, call us at 434.244.3050, e-mail us or just send it to us along with a photo of you or its story!

Cupcakes!!!!!!!!!!

Who makes the best-est cupcakes, like, EVER?
Well, our aunt Dotty at Cappellino's Crazy Cakes does, don't you know?

Yesterday my buddy Lincoln invited me down there to check out his favorite, the Lemon Drop.
YUM! It's a winner!
I give it four paws of approval!

I was so excited about that cupcake, I gave aunt Dotty a big kiss as a thank you!

See you there next time! I'm headed back soon for some macaroons!

Easy Rider!

"Born To Be Wild
Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
In whatever comes our way."

"See y'all later!"

Thanks to Shenandoah Harley, Evel Knievel, Sheridan Avenue Studios (and to Mom!) for today's adventure!
See you next time: and don't forget to dream BIG!
