2015 CASPCA Bow-WOW-Walk - Thanks!!

We are so impressed!

In Charlottesville, we live in a community that is SO animal friendly and where humans flock instantly to any occasion to support animals in need - we are so lucky, and a GREAT "Thank you!" goes out to this amazing herd of humans (and well-behaved canines!) that gathered on this steamy Saturday for the second annual Bow-WOW-Walk!!

Almost all of our team, "Picture This!", held still just long enough for a celebratory group shot:

We thank all of our participants for their generous donations - not pictured are team members, local artists Nancy Bass and Scheline Crutchfield (check out those links for their amazing work!!).

While we waited to register and walk, new friends were made and treats were had.
We munched on a great and generous treat bag donated by our great friend Patty at Animal Connection. She's a health nut like Mom, so everything was grain free and delicious!

Sweet Libby was totally ready for her walk.

My personal walker Zoe, preparing Pandora for the walk, and petting was definitely allowed!

Handsome blue-eyed Samson meets Play-Doh.

He's quite a ham, that Samson.

Pandora needed some snuggle time during the wait. There were a LOT of dogs and (tall) humans there... she was a little tiny bit intimidated, but ended up walking with a lot of gusto.

Me? Well, I was thinking: "WHEN IS THIS SHOW GOING TO START??"

Well, we did take off at 10, and boy, was it fun!

Awesome tutus! These ladies dressed up for the occasion!

The Weenie Club.

"Are ya coming, Mom??"

It was a super walk, hot and steamy, with plenty of water along the way and dog pools at the end, manned by the great folks from the Charlottesville Fire and Rescue Teams.

We hope you will join us next year for another walk through downtown Charlottesville.

PS: C'Ville: you are awesome, I'm proud to live here!!

jolly jail time

By now I'm sure you know that I've landed in jail...
Being perfect is very hard.

Jail's not really jail. But it means I have to stay in our workshop.
Which, I have to admit, is actually kind of a cool place.

We make square things here. For people. And they get really excited about what we make, as if it were
a big piece of cheese. So I've decided that I'd try to make my folly up to Mommy by helping her out a little.

Here goes: I put on my apron and grabbed some tools and some of those long things that go in a square.
I wasn't allowed to use the big equipment cause you need to use your feet and the paws at the same time, and, eh, I'm a little too height challenged for that. This: I got this!

... ummm ... so you put this here... and this here....

... eehhh... and you put this over here...

Hm. The paws. It's the paws. I'm having some trouble. I wish my uncle Dave was here, he'd help me!

... hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Em, I think this ain't my thang after all... now what?

Oh goodie (hallelujah): Mom said it's okay and I can go home now! (VICTORY!!!!!!!)

She said I helped out a lot and I was a good boy. (Phew.)

And honestly, jail isn't all that bad. It's full of challenges, but it has it's good points.
And every day I learn something new. Like: paws and waterproof wood glue: not a good match.

 'Later!

Boom: roasted!

Thanks to everyone who came out to eat some weenies with me
on Saturday at the McIntire Fall Fest!

Aunt Kay, Dad and Mom teamed up to roast weenies in front of La Linea Bella! all day to benefit the Hot Dog Hill Sanctuary (I'm not tall enough to reach the grill, or I'd have flipped a few dogs -- and eaten a few more too!). Hot Dog Hill devotes their time, love and effort to taking in dachshunds (and other doggies) that are elderly or ill or deemed unadoptable due to other health issues. Some only have a few weeks left to live, but Hot Dog Hill believes in giving them the comfortable and dignified last chapter they deserve. If you've ever taken care of an elderly dog, you know how much love, devotion, understanding and patience it requires. There are many people who just cannot handle this stage of a dog's life and that's where Hot Dog Hill steps in. They are a small  organization near Richmond, Virginia and you can find them and their current furry friends on Facebook.

This is my late sister Mausi. She passed away at the age of 19+ last year and I am dedicating this weenie roast to her memory. She was awesome and we miss her very much!

Favorite part of the day?
My friend Zoe came down to the festival. She told her Mom that she wanted to buy her whole family dinner in order to donate the money she had made with her lemonade stand to the dogs at Hot Dog Hill. Isn't that just super-awesome??? I am so impressed.

I managed to raise about $150 with my roast, which is just a little drop in the bucket, but we had such a great time and we hope that you will check out Hot Dog Hill and support their venue as well!

Thanks to the terrific folks at Hot Dog Hill for their devotion and love for all four legged creatures.

If you'd also like to donate to their cause, just click here!

See you soon!

Project Bow Titus Part Deux: Bill and my favorite orange bow tie.

You know what's the biggest compliment of them all? (And you know I like to think BIG!)
When your really-really cool friends want to borrow your favorite bow tie, that's what!

Meet Bill. As you can tell he's a really snazzy dude. He owns a hair studio and he's one of C-Ville's best hair stylists -- the ladies swarm in from all over Virginia for his magic touch.
(I might have to let him coiff some of my fluff one day!)
Last week he asked me if he could borrow my awesome orange tie for a special occasion.
What do you think, does he look as fantastic with it as I do?
(I say: pretty darn tootin' close!)

xoxo TITUS

Remember: if you'd like to have your special bow tie featured on Project Bow-Titus,
send it along with a photo or your story to La Linea Bella ! or contact us via e-mail!
